Poker isn't a sport. It's a subtle form of gambling. It's actually just gambling anyway you look at it. This is my thought anyway, if you don't agree, write your own blog! I love it, but I love to gamble. I was very active this month playing poker. My net winnings this month were $1135. Thats not bad. I lost the first two tournaments I played this year, finishing 7th and 10th respectively in house games. I played terrible. Everyone does now and then, it can't be avoided. In my last 4 games however, I've really picked it up, playing much more solid. I finished 2nd in a 15 player tournament recently, finished a 3 hour session at the casino up $550 and placed 2nd in their $80/40 player tourney. That was a nice $590 as well. Nothing to significant to mention in any of these tournaments, cracked aces, kings, got lucky and played well when I wasn't getting that luck. I did hit a 4 card flush on my friend when we were both holding pocket 10s and that was funny only because I likely agree with him now that he does have some bad luck when it comes to cards. I'm going to say more in coming weeks about poker as I love it, but just this mini-update has gotten quite long.
Um, so its been much more challenging ending my treatments then I thought it was going to be. I didn't realize I would worry as much as I do. I touch my neck all the time making sure none of my 'nodes are enlarged etc. It's not healthy and I'm learning to cope with it. It hasn't been fun though. I have started going to the gym now, as I write this, i've been going to the gym reguraly for over 2 weeks now, I started up hockey again last week and played fairly well for everything considered. Felt good getting that first goal, felt great actually! In a month or so, i'm going to train myself to get back in to basketball. I'm hoping for an April return. My mind is starting to accept my limitations as much as I hate it. I realize more and more that I can get to a certain threshold, but I can't go beyond that. I never had that mentality before and its a hard thing to accept now. The thing that I can say now that I couldn't just 2 weeks ago is that i'm feeling better and less stressed. Its all I can do for now.
The superbowl will feature the Indy Colts vs NO Saints. I'm taking the Saints, no questions asked. I'm not a Colts fan nor a huge Manning fan. He's awesome, but I don't enjoy watching him play, he's very mechanical. The Saints are an Offensive juggernaut and I don't see the Colts D stopping them, but I can see them scoring alot. Just not as much as the Saints :P.
